The Fabulous Downey Brothers is what happens when you take a bunch of film students and plug them into amps. Formed in December 2010, FDB started as a one-time-only Christmas band by Sean and Chandra. Liam stepped in shortly after, and it didn’t take long for them to establish themselves in the scene despite the fact that they didn’t even have a name. With an official moniker in high demand, a friend of the brothers was desperate to make flyers for their New Year’s show but didn’t know what to call them. Frustrated, the friend threw his hands up exclaiming, “Fine, I’m just gonna call you The Fabulous Downey Brothers,” and it stuck. Hence, much like the birth of the baby Jesus, a sexless miracle was born in the dead of winter (sans manger, plus vocal processor). Brother Freddy was asked to join and couldn't say no. Alex joined the band years ago before it even existed. No one is really sure how Myrtice got involved. In no time, The Fabulous Downey Brothers started getting shows all over Olympia and Seattle. They recently opened for their heroes The B-52's at Marymoor Park and are thrilled to have just won Best Live Band (Fan's Pick and Judge's Pick) at The Olympia Music Awards 2012. They also just released FIZZ, a double-EP with live and studio versions of some of their hits (available on iTunes and Amazon), successfully wrapped a two week West Coast summer tour with Airpocalypse (from America's Got Talent), and continue doing live shows whenever anyone will have them. |
